Its day four, I think. I’m not even that sure as the jet lag has hit quite badly. I’ve spent the last few days sleeping when I’m supposed to be awake, and eating when I’m supposed to be sleeping. That’s actually a lie, I’ve barley slept at all.
On our first day we were pretty productive; got our bank cards sorted, phones and other important, boring stuff. I met Libby and Louise as they arrived at the hostel and then we headed to darling harbour. It’s a very beautiful place, quite pricey but the views are worth it. Alex, a new friend, ordered a fish and chips and within minutes of it arriving we were attacked by a swarm of seagulls. Apparently its something we need to get used too here…
We have since been to visit a few places such as the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Bridge, Chinatown, and we went on the Coogee to Bondi beach walk which was fab. We were judged by some lovely Danish girls for constantly talking about how tanned we were, lol. This was one of my favourite days so far as the girls and I couldn’t stop laughing. To top it off, it was the day we also had our first night out in Sydney.
This probably deserves a page of its own… we started at FREE cheese and wine night. Yes, I know, sounds perfect doesn’t it? We arrived to see around 10 crackers, a few chunks of cheese and glasses of wine being poured out of a carton. Never the less, being the students that we are (were), we were straight to the front of the queue.
It didn’t taste good at all, but it was free. I then accidentally spilt my glass of wine down the back of Ally’s white skirt so we headed up to the bathroom, where I tried to dry it under the drier. Later that night, we had heard about an international bikini competition so we collectively decided that ally should take part. There was a $300- cash prize for first place. Ally’s is hot, so we were sure she’d win! She took one for the team and got up on stage in a bikini in the middle of the club. Absolute legend!
Now if you knew Ally like I do, this is something she would NEVER do, so we were extremely proud. The girls entered the stage and it all went terribly wrong.. the beat dropped and the girls began slut dropping, attempted twerking, I had blooming bums and VJ’s in my face. It literally went from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds and it was both ours and Ally’s worst nightmare! Noting like what we had in mind, you know, the whole just walk down the stage, twirl, pose and walk back sort of stuff? We got her off the stage before it got worse – definitely a story to tell.
We’ve met a decent amount of people now, mainly guys, shock. We have a interview tomorrow about signing for a new flat and we have a night out in Bondi planned. I might also be playing my first football game tomorrow night. I have been here a total of 4-5 days and I have already managed to get signed – madness haha!
Its now 9pm and I’m about to crash. So physically and mentally tired I cant wait for a good night sleep!
