Here is a list of 12 beautiful places to visit in Bali. I know there are so many things to see that it can feel overwhelming, so I have made a list of my must-sees. If you wish to get your hands on my Ultimate guide to visiting Bali, with absolutely everything you need to know for your trip, including internet access, where to stay, eat, visit, how to get around, and everything else you can think of, you can grab a copy in my online store here.

#12 Tirta Gangga

Tirta Gangga is a beautiful water palace located in East Bali. The palace was built in 1948 by the last king of Karangasem, featuring a stunning mix of Balinese and Chinese architectural styles. It is famous for its beautiful gardens, fountains, and ponds, which are filled with crystal-clear spring water and koi fish.

#11 Monkey Forest

I usually avoid tourist attractions that involve animals but the monkey forest is different. It is a 27 acre forest with over 700 balinese Macaque monkeys that are roaming freely across the grounds. The animals are wild.

The forest itself is also beautiful with lush greenery, intricate carvings and winding pathways. There are 3 temples located within the grounds making this a sacred area among the locals. You can witness the monkeys in their natural habitat.

You cannot touch or feed them as they are wild animals and you must keep a safe distance from them.

TIPS:
👀 Don’t look the monkeys in the eyes
😁 Don’t show the monkeys your teeth
😎 Hide your sunglasses and any other loose item as they are notorious for stealing things! You can see they have stolen a hair tie in the video and are fighting over it 😝

Point 1 and 2 are known to aggravate the monkeys because they believe you are trying to challenge them.

#10 Viewpoints of Mount Agung, East Bali

There are many places in East Bali to see the famous Mount Agung in the distance and the best way to find them is by driving around the incredible landscape.

We stumbled across this viewpoint and I absolutely fell in love with it. We spoke to some locals who said you can walk through the rice fields, as long as you only walk around the edges like you can see me doing here. If you step into the water with the rice plants you risk damaging them so please be respectful.

If you are looking for a complete guide to visiting Bali, you can now grab a copy of my E-book from my online store.

#9 Kajeng Rice Fields

Definitely save this one and discover the authentic charm of Kajeng Rice Fields 🌾

Escape the tourist crowds and immerse yourself in the true essence of Bali at Kajeng rice fields. It’s a hidden gem where you can witness locals working in the terraced fields, giving you a real glimpse into traditional Balinese farming. 🌾✨

Surround yourself with stunning natural beauty as you explore this picturesque landscape. The lush green rice fields against the backdrop of clear blue skies create a breathtaking scene.

For the most enchanting experience, make sure to visit during sunrise or golden hour. The warm golden light casts a magical glow over the fields, adding a touch of ethereal beauty to your adventure. 🌅✨

Located in Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali, Kajeng rice fields offer a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. Take a moment to relax, connect with nature, and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of this hidden oasis.

#8 Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Chasing waterfalls is one of my favourite pastimes and the island of Bali has so many good ones to choose from!!🌿

Kanto Lampo waterfall is the ultimate escape for those seeking nature’s embrace. This hidden gem is nestled amidst lush greenery, with surrounding rivers plus a handful of man made pools to be discovered.

The best time to visit this waterfall is in the late afternoon when the soft sunlight illuminates the cascades 🌞✨ Expect to share this spot with other people as it increases in popularity.

You may have seen some videos on here of Balinese locals turning into very passionate photographers, guiding people into poses under the spray of the fall… it’s here. It’s at Kanto Lampo 🙈 The queues for a photo tend to go down pretty quickly, and you can also opt to not get a shot and enjoy the waterfall at one side.

The entrance fee is just 20,000 IDR (€1.20) and they have a small cafe half way down the stairs on your way to the pools. Grab your swimsuit, hike your way to this tropical haven, and let the soothing waters wash away all your worries 🙌💧

12 beautiful places to visit in Bali

#5 Tegallalang Rice Fields

Tegallalang Rice Fields in Bali is a mesmerizing and iconic destination that showcases the island’s rich agricultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes. As you step into this verdant paradise, you’ll be greeted by a sprawling panorama of terraced rice fields that stretch as far as the eye can see.

The vibrant shades of green, created by the different stages of rice growth, create a visually striking and picturesque scene. Tegallalang Rice Fields offer a glimpse into the local farming culture and a chance to connect with nature in a meaningful way.

#4 Gembleng waterfall

Gembleng Waterfall is a hidden gem that was only recently discovered. It is nestled in the heart of Bali, offering a tranquil and untouched natural setting for visitors to explore. Located off the beaten path, this waterfall provides a serene and secluded escape from the crowds. As you make your way through a lush forest, you’ll be rewarded with the sight of water cascading down moss-covered rocks, creating a soothing and picturesque scene.

The surrounding vegetation adds to the charm, creating a serene atmosphere that allows you to connect with nature on a deeper level. The pool at the base of the waterfall invites you to take a refreshing dip, while the soothing sound of rushing water provides a soundtrack of serenity.

#3 Kellingking beach, Nusa Penida

Kelingking Beach in Nusa Penida, Bali is an awe-inspiring destination that leaves visitors in utter amazement. Its iconic rock formation, resembling the shape of a T-Rex, has earned it the nickname “T-Rex Bay” or “Dinosaur Head.” As you stand atop the cliff, gazing down at the turquoise waters and pristine white sands below, you’ll be captivated by the sheer beauty of this hidden gem.

The panoramic views from the cliff’s edge are truly breathtaking, providing a picture-perfect backdrop for unforgettable photographs. While the descent to the beach requires some effort and caution, it rewards you with a secluded paradise, ideal for sunbathing. It is not recommended that you swim here due to the strong currents and the lack of lifeguards.

#2 Sekumpul waterfall

Sekumpul Waterfall in Bali is a majestic natural wonder that enchants visitors with its awe-inspiring beauty. Tucked away in the highlands of northern Bali, Sekumpul is a collection of seven picturesque waterfalls that cascade down lush green cliffs, surrounded by a pristine rainforest. The sheer size and power of the falls create a mesmerizing sight as the water plunges into the emerald pool below.

To reach Sekumpul Waterfall, you’ll embark on a scenic trek through picturesque landscapes and picturesque rice terraces, immersing yourself in the serenity of nature along the way. The journey is well worth it, as it culminates in a breathtaking view of the cascading waterfalls, which offer a refreshing mist and a soothing symphony of nature’s elements. Sekumpul Waterfall’s remote location adds to its charm, providing a sense of tranquility and seclusion.

It is an ideal destination for adventure enthusiasts, photographers, and nature lovers seeking an authentic and awe-inspiring experience in Bali.

#1 Diamond beach, Nusa Penida

My new favourite place in Bali, Diamond Beach! It is a true gem of a destination, renowned for its pristine beauty and breathtaking coastal scenery. Nestled on the southeastern coast of the island on Nusa Penida, Diamond Beach offers a postcard-perfect paradise that will leave you in awe. As you descend down the rugged cliffs, you’ll be greeted by a stunning expanse of powdery white sand juxtaposed against vibrant turquoise waters.

The beach takes its name from the glittering diamond-like formations that adorn the cliffside, creating a mesmerizing backdrop for your visit. The downside is you cannot swim here as the currents are too dangerous! However, the panoramic views from the beach are simply breathtaking, with dramatic cliffs and rugged rock formations that provide an awe-inspiring setting. For those seeking natural beauty and a serene escape, Diamond Beach in Nusa Penida is an absolute must-visit destination that promises an unforgettable experience in one of Bali’s most stunning coastal landscapes.

So I had read a few blogs before planning my trip to the #1 rated waterfall in Bali yet apparently none of which were completely up-to-date. Here is a 2020 guide to visiting Sekumpul waterfall Bali, with updated regulations and prices.

How to get to Sekumpul waterfall

Sekumpul waterfall lies in the north of Bali, making it less crowded that many other waterfalls on the island. It is around a 2.5 hours drive from the main tourist spots of Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta and Ubud. Although it is out of the way, it is still rated the best waterfall in Bali, and for good reason.

Entrance fees at Sekumpul Waterfall

I had read previous blogs saying that it was necessary to get a guide as the trek down to the waterfalls could be quite slippy and dangerous. Other blogs stated that it wasn’t at all needed and you could get down there on your own accord.

I rocked up to the entrance of the waterfall thinking I would have the choice and I was mentally and physically prepared to tackle the adventure alone. However, new Government regulations have been put into place which state that you must be accompanied by a guide.

The fee to hire a guide depends on how many waterfalls you want to visit. There are 3 waterfalls adjacent to one another; Sekumpul waterfall, hidden waterfall, and Fiji waterfall.

Unfortunately, the one you have seen all over Instagram that has 3 cascading falls in one place (Fiji), is only included in the larger package.

2020 Guide to Visiting Sekumpul Waterfall Bali

The larger package consists of a visit to all 3 waterfalls, all within a short walking distance, a guide and a small bottle of water. It costs 200,000 ($23AUD) per person and the smaller package (excluding Fiji waterfall) costs 125,000 ($14AUD).

The only way to see the waterfall in 2020 is by hiring a guide – there is no way around it.

In my opinion, it is very expensive in comparison to many other tourist attractions on the island. I have visited the majority of the waterfalls in Bali and the maximum I have paid is 40,000. The claim is that you are donating money to the nearby villages in the north that don’t benefit as much from the tourist industry. If this is the case, then it makes the sting slightly less painful.

The Trek Down

Trekking down is very easy. I think this is what makes the whole hiring a guide for more than $20 per person sting, as it really isn’t necessary in the slightest. There are stairs leading down to the waterfall, and a perfectly located rope to help you across the small river.

2020 Guide to Visiting Sekumpul Waterfall Bali

All 3 waterfalls are incredibly stunning. Our first stop was Fiji waterfall and as we arrived to the bottom, we stood in complete awe. Within minutes I was soaking wet from the spray of the falls, coming from all 3 directions. I have never witnessed so many waterfalls in one place and it truly was spectacular.

Next we ventured to Sekumpul, the ‘twin’ waterfall where two powerful cascading falls meet at the bottom in a giant swimming hole. I visited in raining season (October-April) so I was unable to swim as the current was too strong. In the dry season, this swimming hole is usually full of tourists enjoying a quick dip. Nonetheless, this waterfall was stunning.

Lastly, we went to the hidden waterfall. It was around 10.30am by the time we got to this last spot and the beams of sunlight hitting the fall were something else. This is the place that made me stop and say ‘wow’ out loud. The waterfall itself was beautiful, but the lighting made the view I had in front of me special.

2020 Guide to Visiting Sekumpul Waterfall Bali

Although the entrance fee to the waterfalls is overpriced, I would still recommend a visit. The 3 waterfalls that lie here in the north of Bali are honestly some of the most beautiful ones I have seen around the world. And trust me, I’ve seen plenty!

Where to Stay

I would recommend staying in the North of Bali for 1 night. Other than the waterfalls, there are rice terraces, mountain drives, temples and beaches to explore. Staying the night means you aren’t driving home in the dark, on the same day.

Lovina is a beach town, around 1 hour away from Sekumpul waterfall. There isn’t much to do but it is a good base for one night. If you would like to be closer, take a look at the Munduk area.

Right then. Let’s dive straight into why I decided to write a blog post about the Currency exchange rate scams in Bali. Basically, I don’t like people who deliberately try and scam others – period.

I got scammed, and I don’t want the same thing to happen to anyone else.

I have been “living” in Bali for 6 weeks and absolutely love being here. The people, the food, the attractions, you name it, I love it. Unfortunately no matter how much good there is in a place, there seems to always be some bad.

The people in Bali are honestly some of the most heart-warming and friendly people I have met, however those who have set up a small currency exchange shack, don’t fall into this category.

How you get scammed at a currency exchange shop in Bali

So, I got my money changed at one of these small exchange shops as the going rate was too good to pass up on. They were giving more than what they should have been, meaning I was getting free money (we all know nothing in life is for free!).

It wasn’t a lot, but on a $500AUD swop for IDR I could have made $15. I had mooched around and seen various shops with similar prices to make sure it wasn’t a scam (lol).

I went into a small shop that looked pretty legit. The guy behind the counter counted the money in front of me and then I counted it, and this happened a total of 6 times because I wanted to make absolutely sure I had it right before leaving.

He handed over the final amount and I had counted it that many times I thought it was all okay. It wasn’t.

Luckily I only decided to change $100 that day as I had seen better exchange rates in another town. Later I realised that from the $100 I changed, the equivalent to $30 was missing.

I went through everything I had bought during the day, made calculations, and nothing made sense. My friend who I exchanged my money with said “maybe you were shortchanged”. All I could think was, how on earth did that happen when I counted it so many times and it was definitely correct?

So, I went back to another shop, this time bringing a guy with me, to test the theory that I had been robbed.

They tried to steal from me once again, from a completely different shop.

We each decided to change $200.

We both had a pile of money in our hand after counting it multiple times, and we decided to do one final check before leaving. The guy I was with checked his, it was perfect – the exact amount. I checked mine and it was $50 short. HOW!?

I called him up on it straight away and he said, “oh, let me check”. He knew he had been caught and proceeded to say “ah, yes, with the tax…”. I said, “stop right there. Firstly you cannot charge me tax WITHOUT telling me you are going to and secondly, no way am I paying $50 tax on a $200 exchange”.

I demanded my money back, to which he accepted. After a few moments of standing there in complete shock, he calls me over and says he will give me the correct amount – to which he did.

How do they do it?

They offer an exchange rate over the going rate to attract your attention.

Great, it works.

He counts the money in front of you, you count it, back and forth a few times and he hands over the money. This happens as many times as you wish.

On his final count, he will sneakily pull a few notes out of the pile before handing you back the ‘final’ amount.

I spoke to a few expats who live in Bali, and they told me that it is a common scam that happens to 100’s of tourists!

The reason they are able to offer such good exchange rates is because

They steal a chunk of it from you, meaning they end up with more money

Or, you catch them out, they give you the correct amount, yet they have used the money they stole from someone else to give you that amount. They still win.

Currency Exchange Rate SCAMS in Bali – Moral of the story

You can get your money exchanged in the supermarkets. They aren’t as great an exchange rate, but still only set you back a few $. This way you know it is legit and you won’t be ripped off. It is definitely worth it.

If you would like to go ahead and try your luck, I suggest doing it with a friend. Check the amount just before leaving and call them up on it if it is off. I have found that a lot of Balinese people don’t like confrontation, thus they will give you your money back if you catch them.

Use the ATM machines to withdraw IDR. I have an international card with *TransferWise which offer free transactions worldwide.

*With my link you get a fee-free transfer of up to 500 GBP.

COVID-19 UPDATE APRIL 2020: Be extremely careful taking cash out of an ATM in Bali. There have been multiple cards copied in Canggu over the last week. Someone even uploaded a photo of a tiny camera that had been installed into the keypad of an ATM. Use the ATM’s inside the banks to reduce the risk of having your card cloned and your money stolen.

One morning we woke up around 6am to visit the Local Markets Bali in Ubud. Every day, the local people gather in the early morning to sell food to Balinese residents, before the market turns into a tourist targeted place around 9am. We arrived around 7 o’clock in the morning and many items had already been sold. Some people were even starting to pack up. It was still very busy but the earlier you arrive, the better.

The traditional local markets in Bali are a must-visit place. It is incredible to see a ‘typical day’ in the life of a Balinese Local. There are many things for sale from fresh fruit and vegetables, to handmade decorations and flowers.

Local Markets Bali

There are ladies around the market selling cooked food on their stalls, mainly meat – don’t ask me what kind because I couldn’t tell you. Stay away from the raw meat. It is an obvious no-no for tourists as it is sat out in the heat, turning brown and covered in flies (not like you would randomly buy a pig’s leg in Bali anyway!).

Why You Should Visit the Traditional Local Markets in Bali

The atmosphere is incredible and so REAL. There are many people in the market who are in need of the money. You can see, and feel their desperation as they try to sell you their products. The amount of appreciation you receive as you purchase the smallest thing is amazing. You cannot spend your money on everyone though, so it can become emotional as you walk round turning people down.

How to Get to the Local Markets Bali, in Ubud:

Getting to the Local Markets from the Monkey Forest – Head straight up Jl. Monkey Forest road towards the Taman Saraswati Temple. At the end of this road is the main street in Ubud called Jl. Raya Ubud. Just before you arrive at this junction, the markets are on your right hand side, on the corner. They are down an alleyway so it is quite easy to walk past – keep your eyes peeled.

How to find off the tourist track, Rice Fields Bali. Get to explore the rice fields of Bali without the hassle of paying “donations” every 5 minutes:

I read many reviews about the Tegallalang Rice Fields in Bali, Ubud, and unfortunately, most of them were negative. It is an obvious tourist trap. There is a small entrance fee of 15.000IDR but once you get inside there are many locals asking for “donations” every couple of metres. It wouldn’t be such an issue if they were only asking, but if you do not provide a donation, you are unable to pass further into the fields, so they are pretty much mandatory.

I decided to do a little more research to see if I could find another alternative. I found some Rice Fields in the Centre of Ubud so T and I set off to find them. We did get a little lost at first, but found a lovely couple who were trying to find the same thing we were.

Directions: Head towards the Pura Taman Saraswati Temple, once you reach Starbucks take a right down Jl. Kajeng road and walk in a straight line down a pebble path until you reach a sign that says, “Rice Field Walk”. It is quite a long road, so you may feel you’re going the wrong way but if you see these cool designs on the road then you know you’re heading in the right direction.

As you go up the hill, the rice fields are on the left-hand side, very hard to miss. There are 2 restaurants on the way around and a Warung; a Balinese restaurant in a quirky looking “house”.

Rice Fields Bali

These rice fields are definitely worth the visit! There are local Balinese veterans working in the fields which adds to the whole experience.

As you reach the end of the fields you appear to reach a dead end, although it isn’t. You can get out at the other side and it takes you straight back to the main street (Jl. Raya Ubud), but the path is slightly broken.

All you need do is climb down into the dirt and back up the other side. It is an easy enough task and takes less than 10 seconds. The broken path is not accessible for disabled, but you can walk back the same way you came if necessary.

These local rice field are truly stunning in a natural, non-touristic way.

It’s an amazing experience that I recommend you try. I chose to pay a company in advance, but if you turn up on the day you might be able to negotiate a better deal!

Getting over to the Gili Islands Bali is pretty simple. The boats leave from 5 different locations on the island of Bali: Amed, Benoa Harbour, Padang Bai, Sanur and Serangan and ticket prices vary depending on the location of your departure.

If you are travelling to and from Padang Bai, your ticket will be cheaper. You will however need to arrange transport to/from your hotel wherever you are staying on Bali. Sanur is the most popular port as it is close to Seminyak, Kuta and Ubud therefore it is also the most expensive.

You can book your tickets online in advance here, or you can buy them once you arrive to one of the ferry ports. If you choose to do the latter, you should arrive earlier in order to guarantee a spot. Make sure you do this especially if you are travelling during the summer months.

Once you arrive at the port you will be given a handful of stickers with the name of your final destination. Place them on both your t-shirt and on your luggage and don’t lose them. The crew handle your baggage and put them in a pile based on where you are heading. We used Eka jaya fast boat which took around 2.5 hours to Gili Trawangan.

Gili Islands Bali

The Gili Islands Bali are a fantastic place for snorkelling, relaxing on the beach and of course, partying. We went on a snorkel trip lasting 5 hours which took us over to Gili Air and Gili Meno. It cost 90.000 IDR (back in 2017!) so I imagine the prices will be higher now. We were provided with a snorkel and mask so you don’t need to buy your own. We stopped on Gili Air for an hour for lunch which you pay for yourself. The tour guides direct you to a restaurant they have a contract with, but we ditched the crowd and went to another one down the street. We didn’t fancy waiting around for all 40 people on our boat to order their lunch.

Most tour companies offer the same deal for around a similar price.

Snorkelling around the Gili Islands Bali is beautiful and there are many turtles living in the warm water. The only thing that spoils it are the amount of people crammed on to the tours. Most people who sell you the tickets tell you that it is for a small tour of 6 people.

However, when we arrived on the day there were actually 40 of us. Every boat out in the water was full of people, which does spoil the experience a little. We tried to do our own thing and not follow the crowds, but you can’t stray too far from your boat or you’ll end up being left behind with all the other tourists in the water.

Gili Islands Bali

The beaches on Gili Trawangan are beautiful and the water is very warm. There are two main beaches, one where all the tours and boats arrive/leave from, and at the other side of the island is where the famous Gili Swings are. The Gili swings are very popular on a night time, especially around sunset. There are a number of chill out bars along the beaches with sofas and bean bags facing towards the sea.

Gili Trawagan is a great spot for snorkelling, beach days, party nights and chill out bars. No matter where you stay on the island, you will have a fab time. If you like the party scene, stay on the side of the island where the boats come in. If relaxing and sunbathing is more your thing, stay on the other side of the island.

TIP! The one sad thing about the island is that there are no taxis or scooters and the only form of transport is horse and cart. You may think this sounds cool but these animals are not being looked after. They are dehydrated, hot and tired and the locals do not provide them with the correct amount of food or water. If you can book a hotel nearby that means you don’t need to use this form of transport, the better!

Try not to use the horses for unnecessary trips. If you have tons of luggage and your hotel is 2km, fair enough. But, don’t use these guys just to get to the beach. Don’t be lazy & save the horses the stress 🙁

Food in Bali is Uh-mazing!

When you are travelling around Asia, it becomes pretty difficult for your mind [and body] to contemplate eating anymore boiled rice. In Bali however, it is totally different!

Yes, there is a lot of white rice floating around. BUT, there is a wide selection of other food available that doesn’t consist of a Western ‘burger and chips’.

There is a lot of fresh fruit on the island, which is perfect for the humid weather. You can wake up to a fresh fruit juice, or indulge in a smoothie bowl. These were my favourite things about the food in Bali as they were so delicious!

There are many meaty options, and fresh fish is also big in Bali. Most of these meals include some sort of fruit ingredient too. Lawar is a chicken or pork based dish, served with coconut, garlic, and chili. Bebek Betutu (lol, sounds funny) is a duck based dish, but again is wrapped in banana leaves, and cooked with coconut. Although most of the dishes in Bali are fried, these ingredients add a little freshness to them!

Of course, their main dish is a ‘rice’ dish. They also have a noodle alternative of the same meal. Nasi Campur and Nasi Goreng are probably the main dishes in Bali. Consisting of either rice or noodles, and fried vegetables, it is a simple, yet delicious meal.

Being an Asian country, even the desserts can be made with rice. The picture below is showing a typical Balinese dessert, a sweet rice cake.

Bali is an amazing place. It doens’t really reflect the rest of Asia.

It is a hard one to describe. It is sort of Westernised in the sense that there are 5* hotels, and 100’s of restaurants. At the same time, there is a still a local feel to it.

Climbing up Mount Batur Bali to see the sunrise was one of my favourite things to do in Bali and I would recommend it to anyone fit enough to get up it. There are many tour companies who offer the sunrise climb to tourists and you can either book in advance or wait until you’re on the island. I booked the tour online through a company called Voyagin, who provide numerous tours all over Indonesia.

With many things in Bali you can bargain your way to a better price, so it might be a good idea to wait until you are there. Although with an organised trips such as climbing Mount Batur, I feel like the prices won’t differ too much.

Important Things to Know

It is important to know that it is a pretty difficult uphill hike taking around 1.45hours to get to the top (depending on how fit you are/how fast your group moves). Most of the hike is uphill and it rarely plateau’s which makes it a struggle (especially for asthmatics like myself).

There were all kind of age groups climbing to the top, some who needed extra time and a few that had to head back down as they found it too difficult. It is a real challenge on your legs so be prepared for the burn.

The tour leaders are however fabulous and help you wherever possible. My tour guide made “walking sticks” for us all out of a few branches she found on the way up which helped us massively on the way down where it can be quite slippy with the loose rocks.

There are many loose rocks throughout the entire climb so you need to watch your step.

A lot of people worry about not having the correct footwear to complete the hike up Mount Batur Bali. I read a number of reviews saying how walking boots were a must, but I tried my luck anyway.

Of course, it is a bonus if you have proper walking shoes with a good grip, but a lot of people manage to walk up it in their trainers. I wore my Nike Roche trainers and although I found it slippy in a few spots and had to walk sideways sometimes, it was do-able. They do get filthy mind.

I would say around 75% of people in my group had trainers on so don’t be put off not going, purely because you don’t have the “correct shoes”.

What to Expect When Climbing Mount Batur in Bali

The air at the top of the volcano is cool and it is advisable to take a jacket during the wet season (October-April). It can get quite cold as you eat your breakfast up there. You will most probably wear your jacket as your arrive, giving that it is 4am, but 10 minutes into the climb that thing is coming straight off! I have never sweat so much in my entire life. I was absolutely dripping and wish I had worn a bikini (over dramatic once again!).

When we were having breakfast at the top of the volcano however, I for one was very glad I took my jacket..

The hike up Mount Batur is not the easiest of things to do but it is 100% worth it when you reach the top and watch the sunrise over Kintamani Highland. There is something so surreal about being at the top of the volcano, especially as the sun starts to come up and shines on the land below.
