If you are into your sport, the island is the perfect little getaway. Lanzarote Sport is a huge thing on the island, with 100’s of different activities to choose from.

Growing up on the island, I was training 6 times a week and participating in games 2-3 times on a weekend. It is a little crazy when you think about it, but the island is a very active place and I absolute love it!

Whether you enjoy a slow game of Cricket, or are training for the Ironman, Lanzarote offers this and everything in between.

Cycling

Whether you just enjoy to cycling, or you are a professional rider, the island is fantastic for cyclists. The terrain on the island varies depending where you are. There are many flat roads around the island, but there are also gigantic mountains to ride up and down. 1000’s of people come over to the island to cycle around this beautiful place. Alongside doing what you love most, you can soak up the sun and take in the picturesque views the island has to offer.

Surfing in Lanzarote

As you can imagine, surfing in Lanzarote is very popular and for good reason. The island holds the Canarian Championships on the beach of Famara, due to it’s high waves and strong currents. In Famara, there are numerous Surf Schools from beginners to advance levels. Visit http://www.lanzasurf.com/ for information on how you can sign up for a couple of lessons!

Diving in Lanzarote

Diving in Lanzarote is extremely popular. In Puerto del Carmen, there are a few diving schools that take you out in the beautiful waters of Lanzarote. You are able to hire the equipment for just one day, and go out for a single dive. The instructors teach you the basics before entering the water.

If you are an advanced diver, there are specific dives available for your level.

The dive schools also offer a PADI course, where you can become an accredited certified diver. This means that you can dive anywhere in the world without an instructor present!
