So it’s day 2 of my birthday surprise weekend and T has rented the car for the second day. He is such a romantic when it comes to things like this, a total opposite from me. I knew he’d have something good planned for the day but after my fun-filled day yesterday I couldn’t really think what.

I had wanted to go the Ku-Rai Chase National Park for a while to go on a hike and see the lookouts there. I spotted a sign for the park as we were driving along, and as we turned down towards it. I was so excited!

We drove further and further into the park and I see a sign saying ‘Dog-Rescue’.

For those of you who don’t know me, dogs are my life. My favourite thing ever. I’m the person who cannot walk past a dog without stopping to say hey. And T knew that. We pulled up outside and he had a big cheeky grin on his face. Nowhere near as big as mine though.

I couldn’t wait to get out and I ran towards the shelter. We signed up as new walkers and took a couple of dogs for a walk before sitting in the grass for cuddles with them.

Later that day we drove through the park to lookout point which looks over Palm Beach and I had a go at driving the car. Automatic may I add. I have to say its very boring once you get the hang of it. I’m still no better at parking like.

We had lunch on the lake while listening to a live band. It was a really cool restaurant and the food was good. We drove home that night and stopped off yet again to see another beautiful sunset. I then took T to a place called Bradleys Head, where you stand on a pier, directly across from the Sydney Skyline. It is so picturesque, and we stood there looking at the city lights before heading home to bed.

What an amazing Birthday I’ve had. My friends and T made me feel so god damn special and I will be forever grateful to them!
