It’s my Birthday!!
I always dread birthdays away from home as you’re not likely to wake up to the voice of an angel telling you that your pancakes are ready or to come downstairs to open your presents. Although, I must say that the girls at uni always managed to make it a special day for me.
The girls and my boyfriend had been planning a surprise weekend for me where I was only told what to bring with me. We woke up really early this morning and headed to the rent a car shop as they had hired a car for the day. We headed north out of Sydney and I was given 3 guesses as to where we were going.
Kangaroos, Nelsons bay and Port Macquarie. Safe to say I was spot on but this is purely to do with the fact that little Lou is a fantastic listener and knew I wanted to go up there. T prepared lunch for us all so we sat and had a picnic next to the beach. The girls and I hiked up the Tomaree head summit after lunch while T stayed sunbathing at the bottom. The views were breath-taking up the top and reminded me of the Phi Phi island in Thailand.
On the way home we noticed how beautiful the sunset was going to be and Elle demanded that we stop the car. It turned into a bit of a chaos and after several detours and wrong turns, racing against the sunset, we pulled up at a lake in time to watch it. It was the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen as the reflections lit up the entire lake after minutes of talking it all in, we did the standard thing and began taking photos. Jumping photos against the backdrop, holding hands. Kisses with the boyfriend, the lot.
As cliché as it may have been, we have come home with some amazing pictures and I have had a fantastic birthday.
Look at this beauty!
