It’s been a busy few weeks. My mum and dad arrived in Sydney last Sunday and they’re on a big 6 week adventure, celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary (Legends!) I quit my job last week so I could spend time with them and get myself organised for the next chapter in my life. It’s my last week in Sydney as Libby and I head up north on Tuesday to try find our Regional Work. Australia has this fabulous rule that if you’d like to stay for an extra year, you must complete 88 days of farm work. Cheers Australia!

When Your Parents Come to Visit

During the week, my parents and I have been to many spots around Sydney; Coogee, Bondi, the Opera House, Manly…

Mum and I climbed the Harbour Bridge on Tuesday and that was an awesome experience. It was such a lovely thing to do with my mum, especially during my final week in Sydney. Dad has asthma and a bad back so decided to take a helicopter ride over the city instead. He literally cracks me up! The videos he got were insane and he absolutely loved it!

I love having my parents here. Australia is so far away from home so you can feel homesick at times. It is really cool to just be able to call them up whenever I like (no time difference issues!) and go to the pub for drink!

T also met my parents this week, which was a bit of a big deal. The girls in the house were telling him that parents like to be greeted with a courtesy and that he should call me dad, Sir. It was hilarious how much they were teasing him when he was already so nervous, bless him! We went out for drinks and food with them and everything went so well. It was really strange being at the same table with the 3 of them but I am so glad everyone got on. We have met them a couple of times now and it is so nice having them here – I really don’t want them to go!
